Project and Forum FAQ Empty Project and Forum FAQ

Please read this first if you have questions about the project, or the site.

PROJECT:

Q: So... what IS Prism anyway?
A: It's an awesome fully 3D MMO!

Q: How do I play the game?
A: Our game is currently in development and there is not yet a playable version. All current info on the game and its progress can be found on the main site.

Q: Can I help with the game?
A: We're glad to hear you're as excited as we are about this project. All information can be found HERE on the main site. Sadly we cannot accept everyone that comes to us; too many cooks in the kitchen ya' know?

Q: How can I talk to you guys?
A: Of course we are always available through the forums and you're welcome to send us a PM. However, we also have an IRC channel: afternet #prism. If you're not sure what this is, or you don't have an IRC client, we have one built in to our site! Simply select chat from the side menu, or go to http://prismonline.weebly.com/chat.html !

Q: Whats the benefit of using IRC vs the forums?
A: In IRC, you can chat with us real time, and get constructive criticism on your work much faster than waiting for a post. We also do a majority of development discussion in the IRC, so you might get a sneak peak! However, keep in mind that we all live in different time zones, so we aren't around ALL the time =]

Q: So which is better?
A: Well depends. If you want feedback right away or your have a question try the IRC first. If you don't have a lot of time before you have to leave to go to class or work or w/e but you still want to showoff what you've done, a forum post will be better. In general, if you have work to showoff, start a new thread or update the existing one, and you can't go wrong.

Q: When will the game be done?
A: Being a group of volunteers we can't all devote 40+ hours a week to complete this project as we all have jobs, lives, families etc. We are hoping to release a teaser demo for the public sooner rather than later but nothing is set in stone. In other words "it'll be done when it's done".

Q: Can I beta test or get to see the game early?
A: Like above, we hope to release a teaser demo, but quality is not guaranteed in this. As for alpha/beta testing, we will be contacting people for these positions. They will be people who have contributed greatly in community and content. We will probably have a brief application process, but in general, we will know who we want.

Q: What will system requirements be?
A: We are targeting current mid level computers. However, of course the better computer you have, the smoother the gaming experience will be.

Any other questions, please ask a mod/admin.
