Hello, all!
Hey, I used to lurk the Ekaiyo and now I'm here. A pokemon-esque mmo is long overdue, and it's one of my goals in life to see that it comes to pass.
I am starting in less than a month as a senior in Computer Science. So, yes I know how to program (most fluently in Java), and would love to help on this project, but I fear I will not have much time to give over the next school year. My personal experience, being an undergrad, isn't too extensive, but I am confident in my ability. I also took a game programming course last semester and made a 2D game. I'd rather not post it publicly here as it's not completely stable.
If you have any small tasks, even if it's bug hunting or quality testing, I would love to be involved in this and watch it grow. Everyone knows college students procrastinate; I like to make my procrastination activities productive too
A couple of initial comments which I'm sure have been brought up in the past:
1) I didn't enjoy receiving my password in plain-text in the confirmation email. I know running the forum isn't what you want your time to go toward, but this should at least be made clear when making an account.
2) Have you considered putting this on github and only pulling in quality updates? This may depend on which version of the Esenthel Engine you are working with (paid/free).
Can't wait to see how this goes!

Re: Hello, all!
Hey and welcome to the forums! Its nice to see members trickle over from Ekaiyo since I loved that community so much myself it's nice to see it still live on in some ways.
I'm heading into my final year at uni as an animation major as well. If you're interested in working with us, I'll PM you info and we can talk.
About the forum specific stuff: unfortunately, all we have to use for the time being is forumotion. The decision to send out plain text passwords is made by the software we are using. I'll look into it, but unfortunately, I don't think we have control over it ): I don't know what forumotion's encryption policies are. The best suggestion I can make is to use a strong password that is not used elsewhere by you.
Github is actually something we're considering. Right now, we're working on some technical/legal stuff to get that sorted out, but that is a viable possibility.
Welcome again! TG and I are both located in GMT -5 so we are around in the chat around times that make sense in that zone. Personally, I'm at work all day so I don't have a reliable IRC connection. So I'm mostly around after 6-7pm. Feel free to stop by and chat =]

Re: Hello, all!
Yes, please let me know of any way I can get involved
I am GMT -6, so schedules should work out fine.

Re: Hello, all!
Hi Mr./Ms. teawrecks.
It's great to see some more faces around here. I think indie will be in contact with you via PM, but if you'd like to speak in a more direct way, you can join our IRC at Afternet #prism or you could PM me your skype name and we can chat there.
Thanks for posting, and welcome to Prism Online.
